Literary structure (chiasmus, chiasm) of Gospel of Matthew

Chiasmus and Concentric Structure of divided by 2

Two centers in divided in two structures are "Would-be followers of Jesus" (no. 37, Mt. 8:18-22) and "The question about the resurrection" (no. 109, Mt. 22:23-33). The description "He is God not of the dead, but of the living (22:32)" in 109 seems to be inversed description of "let the dead bury their own dead (8:22)" in 37. These structure would emphasize the teaching that the life is given by following to the LORD.
