Correspondence table of Pericopes and Literary Structure
Though the number of poems in Psalms is generally thought to be 150, the number is unsettled. For example, the chapter numbers of Psalms are different in Catholic and Protestant churches. However, Psalm includes clearly dividable 116 poems which have superscriptions such as titles and comments. Other than that, 9 poems (9,10,25,34,37,111,112,119,145) which utilizes Hebrew alphabetical order (Acrostic Psalms) are included in Psalms. When the continuous alphabetical order poems are counted as one poem, the total number of poems in Psalms becomes 121. The text can be divided in 121 (11 x 11) pericopes. This text includes, one 60 paired (121 pericopes) whole concentric structure, divided in two 30 paired concentric structures, divided in three 20 paired concentric structures, divided in four 15 paired concentric structures, divided in five 12 paired concentric structures, divided in eleven 5 paired concentric structures.
