Literary structure (chiasmus, chiasm) of Gospel of Mark

Chiasmus and Concentric Structure of divided by 4

The text is divided into four concentric structure at three divisional pericopes "Jesus heals the Gerasene demoniac" (no. 21, Mark 5:1-20), "Jesus again foretells his death and resurrection" (no. 41, Mark 9:30-32), and "The destruction of the temple foretold" (no. 61, Mark 13:1-23). The first concentric structure (nos. 1 to 21) is the ministry in Galilee, the second concentric structure (nos. 21 to 41) is the ministry including towns of gentiles, the third concentric structure (nos. 41 to 61) is the travel from Galilee to the Jerusalem temple, and the fourth concentric structure (nos. 61 to 81) is the story after leaving the temple. These structures correspond to changes of places.
